Cricket Incrediball Pairs: Colts C XII v Christ Church Cathedral [A]

What an idyllic afternoon of cricket the Colts C team were lucky to have on Wednesday where Alfie B-K captained a determined group of juniors to a great victory in the picturesque grounds of Christ Church Cathedral School. Bruern opened the batting with an impressive start from the captain and his pair George G, who quickly bagged himself a couple of fours and put on a display of developed ability and confidence that he's built over this term. Hector E (playing on his birthday) and Henry W equally backed up the great start with an impressive batting performance and Bruern continued this trend through to the end of a very hot innings out in the sun, with James G and Otto J having a great few overs too. When

Bruern took to the pitch to field, there were a number of brilliant pieces of play to be seen; Arthur M showed some improved bowling ability, Louis V's wicket keeping was excellent, as was the enthusiasm and reactive fielding from Bertie T and the catching from Duke M, who made an excellent catch to catch someone out. Two particular highlights for us though were when Will W, reluctant to bowl, stepped up and despite his doubts had a great go at bowling and did very well - a great confident step. The other was the outstanding bowling from James B, who was desperate to bowl as much as he could, demonstrating his continued ability built at school and at his club by bowling out 2 batsmen and showing great field leadership throughout the fielding innings.

Bruern ended the game having won by 12 runs, reflecting a close game in the end but a very well deserved one. Well done to all boys on the team.
