Football: Colts Blues v Abingdon Prep [A]

On Wednesday, the U10 B team headed to Abingdon prep for a fun game of football! Our captain, Alfie B-K, got the boys pumped up before heading out onto the field. Thanks to Bertie T, who made his very own football tactics board, the boys were able to identify their positions quickly and confidently. The tempestuous weather did not stop the team from putting in some amazing defence against Abingdon. This was particularly noted by our first half goalkeeper, George G, who stopped a number of goals flying in by the Abingdon players.

This was as well as Ralph W and Benji M who were not afraid to put up a fight in midfield. A big shout out goes to Tristan H, for an unbelievable debut for Bruern Abbey Football. Tristan’s cool-headedness in defence allowed him to keep the ball out of the oppositions goal square and give his teammates many opportunities with the ball. Despite a 5-0 loss, all I could for was that the boys went out there and enjoyed themselves, and that they did. Thank you to Alfie M and James G for always smiling and demonstrating what sport is all about. I cannot wait to coach them again!
