This week saw the blue team travel across the shire to Cothill for an enthralling tri-fixture of touch rugby.
Our first match was a tricky encounter as the boys took a little while to get up to speed with the rules, and we fell to a 2-0 defeat. The second match however, against the 'stronger' team, was much more like it, the boys were running round and passing the ball with such panache you could have mistaken them for the Barbarians. This excellence soon paid dividends after a flat pass from George G found the hands of Jack P who quickly scampered away for our first try. One brought two after some great work at the breakdown, we were able to form a driving maul that kept gathering momentum, eventually number eight Ebu K was on hand to crash over with the ball for our second try.
This seemed to wake up the Cothill team who responded with some ferocious touches and scintillating attacking play, but to the boys credit the stood firm for a superb 2-0 victory, we has blood, sweat and tears at full time but the boys will tell you it was all worth it!
GREAT WIN BOYS!
