Bruern took to the road to visit the plush surroundings of The Dragon School in Oxford. After a delayed start on a breezy, cold day the C team took to the field without their usual super coach Mr Wagstaff. From the very beginning of the match it was clear that the boys were not quite on their game. Dragon attacked from the start and were more structured in their passing, tackling and running. Bruern were slow off the blocks and were it not for the heroics of Walter H the scoreline would have been double figures at half time. Thanks to Walter H it was only 6-0.
After a bit of a wake up call at half time the boys took to the field with a bit more chutzpah and started to play some of their style of football. Ned P moved up to midfield and provided some much needed grit in the middle of the pitch. Walter H had swapped gloves with Hadrien S and he continued where Walter H left off making save after save. The Dragon were the dominant team and with no real intention from the Dragon coach to open the game up, the Dragon strikers were relentless in their attack. In the end Dragon won 12-0 and it was just a bad day at the office for Bruern. I was very proud that the boys stuck together throughout the match and not one negative word was uttered by any of the Bruern team. We look forward to next week in the final matches of term.
