Bruern travelled to Abingdon Prep for the last senior rugby fixture of the year. After getting stuck in traffic the boys had a rushed start on arrival. Olly F started with a long kick that was fumbled by Abingdon which Bruno T capitalised on and scored within 20 seconds. Our lead was short lived, Abingdon quickly levelled and the took a 3-1 lead. With the high winds and freezing temperatures, it wasn't the most inviting of conditions to tackle and we went into half time 4-2 down.
With the half time message focusing around tackling technique and trying to win the second half we came out fighting. Captain Matthew E and Bruno T led by example putting in some big tackles and we levelled the score 7-7 going into the final few minutes. Abingdon scored with seconds on the clock to sneak a narrow victory. Abingdon's teacher commended all the boys in what he described as the best match he has seen for a long time. Well done and what a game to finish a very competitive season.
