It was a joyous occasion this week when we played tennis against Summer Fields. Mr Barrett’s parents - who work there - came along to watch; we also had Mr Floyd's son among the oppo! It was a well-managed event with the third match in both juniors and seniors being a mash-up of Bruern and Summer Fields players.
In the juniors, Kit T led from the front again and played well with his teammate Blake J. Both did a great job as the first pair, especially considering they are year 5s! Felix P and Francis F worked well together and played some impressive tennis against a tough opposition. The team was completed with a year 6 pairing of Eddie H and Jack P, who gave their best and set a good example for the rest of the team.
The seniors battled well. Ed R. played his first match for the school and competed really well at net. All boys enjoyed the game. We went down fighting but it was a great conclusion to a successful season with the most amount of fixtures we’ve had yet!
The last two weeks of term will feature the Bruern junior and senior tennis tournament. Court side tickets will be hotter than the Wimbledon final!
